In the beautiful parkland area of sunny central Alberta, experience the joy that the land on this 450 acre farm feels as it is assisted in being turned back to its natural state.

We are:

• nurturing the diversification of natural plants in the area
• controlling grazing of cattle, so that seeds and "fertilizer" are distributed naturally
• encouraging all the thousands of soil organisms from bacteria to earthworms to moles to aerate the soil
• growing crops, vegetables and grasses without the use of unnatural pesticides or chemicals

• collection and use of naturally growing herbs
• "energy" management / enhancement of nature, let trees spread
• use of solar power
• re-fusing, re-using, re-cycling, reducing
• ever-changing habitat - 160 species of birds, snails, fish, mammals, and reptiles have been documented as having been observed in this area
• "sustainability" in action in all daily living.

Environmental responsibility, creativity, psychology and technology are used to achieve distribution of cattle hoof action and bathroom activities via electric fencing, pipeline watering and solar pumping.  the result is the harvesting of more solar energy in the form of more leaf area produced by the increased dung beetle activity, lessened erosion, and increased bio-diversity in the land, water and air.

-- the 4 R's: refusing, reducing, recycling, re-using

The wisdom and beauty of Nature can be observed in walks in Wildlife Habitat Area with cameras, binoculars and books in hand.  Birds, flowers, herbs, grasses, weeds and spectacular sun-rises and sunsets will bring a sense of peacefulness and the possibilities of the earth when she is allowed to have her way!

Visits with WWOOF'ers (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms), campfires, sing-songs, 'jam' sessions (lots of instruments on site), occasional barn dances, being awestruck with the Aurora Borealis, reflexology and fresh, mostly organic food enhance the sense of well-being.
