Lac La Biche (H-7) - Profile

Population: over 2,737

Lac La Biche is located 135 miles (225 km.) northeast of Edmonton, 175 miles (290 km.) south of Fort McMurray, and 310 miles (513 km.) northeast of Calgary.

The Lac La Biche area has 70% of Alberta's class #1 white sand beaches. Consequently, this area offers great family fun: fishing, boating, canoeing, water skiing, sailing, swimming, camping, and much more.

Its early history is deeply carved by the fur trade. Both the Hudson's Bay Company and the Northwest Company had forts in the area. The natural waterways of Lac La Biche were, for many years, the main route across Canada.
