north of Lake Athabasca and east of Slave River.


Peace and serenity away from phones and faxes! Long tranquil evenings to fish or just enjoy the great outdoors. We have cabins at your choice of several lakes that offer fishing opportunities for northern pike (N.P.) up to 40 lbs., lake trout (L.T.) up to 40 lbs. and/or walleye (W.E.) up to 12 lbs. The lakes include:

When Should I Come?

When the ice goes off the lakes, usually the last weekend in May, the fishing gets good and lasts to mid-October.

How Do I Get There?

Drive*
Fort McMurray is 275 miles north of Edmonton (refer to the Alberta Map) on a paved highway serviced daily by Greyhound and Red Arrow Bus Lines.

Fly*
Fort McMurray is serviced daily by Canadian Regional and Air Canada from Edmonton and other Canadian and USA cities.

* We fly you from Fort McMurray to the lake of your choice, and return, by a commuter aircraft and float plane.

Northern Sport Fishing promotes barbless hooks and the "catch and release" program. We want to ensure that your children will be able to come back and experience the same great fishing! The lakes in this area have northern pike, lake trout, and/or walleye.

What is Supplied?

We provide return air transportation, leaving from Fort McMurray to the lake of your choice. Basically, you look after yourself, cleaning your own fish, cooking your own meals and caring for your gear. You are provided with:

Accidents & Emergencies

Our camps are supplied with first aid kits and HF radios which are the only means of communication. Radio reliability is dependent on weather conditions. The cost of air ambulance service is the responsibility of the person being evacuated and it is wise to have insurance for such an unlikely event.


What Do I Bring?

Remember, when packing, it is fly-in, so please pack accordingly. All garbage must be flown out of your camp. We strive to keep the environment as pure as possible and request that our clients be environmentally conscientious.

Reservations:

A deposit of 25% per person is required at the time of booking and full payment is required 60 days prior to departure. We only book one group per camp at a time to ensure your privacy. Due to this policy, all deposits are non-refundable. Remember to reserve early to avoid disappointment.
