Season: May to September.
Rates: $250 per week/cabin (up to 4 people per cabin).



Excellent fishing, swimming, water sports, private sand beach. Pike to 20 lbs., pickerel to 12 lbs., and perch to 2 lbs.

Each quality constructed cabin is a one bedroom unit with basic furnishings to accommodate four people. No power, no phone, no road. Access by boat only.


ABOUT OUR CABINS:

  1. Each cabin contains basic furnishings to accommodate four persons.

  2. Interior furnishings include two double beds and a chest of drawers for personal items and clothing.

  3. The kitchen-living area has: a table and four chairs, a wood stove, a propane kitchen range, a double kitchen sink, cupboards, a vanity with a water pail and basin. Dish washing cloths and some dish towels are provided.

  4. The kitchen contains basic utensils, pots, kettle, coffee pot, pans, cutlery and dishes.

  5. Two lamps are provided, one burns coleman liquid fuel and the other uses 16 oz. propane cylinders.

  6. A cross cut bow saw is available for cutting firewood.

  7. Outdoor enjoyment is enhanced by a picnic table, an outdoor fire pit and a propane BBQ with tank.

  8. A broom and dust pan to facilitate cleaning of the inside of the cabin.

  9. A storage shed to secure and protect your supplies and equipment.

  10. Access to a telephone. Telus Mobility service in the area is excellent.


WHAT TO BRING:

  1. Sleeping bags, blankets as the whether demands.

  2. Personal items like towels, soap, shampoo, etc.

  3. Clothing to suit the weather - from hot dry days to cool wet ones. Rain wear and rubber boots.

  4. Battery powered radio, flashlight, and outdoor lantern. Coleman liquid camping fuel and 16 oz. propane cylinders.

  5. Swim wear, water sports equipment, insect repellent, fishing tackle to challenge pike up to 20 pounds and walleye to 12 pounds. (over)

  6. Food as you require and drinking water. Drinking water is available from a well/cistern at the Pinehurst Lake campsite.

  7. Cooler/ice chest as there is no fridge. The alternative is a menu of canned foods.

  8. Kitchen utensils if you want to do more than basic cooking.

  9. Dish detergent, pot scrubbers, soap, wash materials, paper towel, toilet paper, plastic garbage bags, laundry soap, aluminum foil, disposable plates, cups, etc.

  10. An ax to cut and split firewood. A small chain saw if you have one.

  11. Boat/motor - Large enough ( at least a 14 ft. with a 20 hp motor) The lake is known to get rough on windy days. Boat gas and oil as you need.


HOW TO GET TO PINEHURST LAKE WILDERNESS CABINS:

From Edmonton follow highway 28 east to the junction with highway 36 north ( east of Bellis ). Proceed north on the highway 36 to the junction with highway 55 east. From this point the roads are well marked with signs to the Pinehurst Lake Campground at the west end of the lake. Consult a recent highway map for other routes.

Park your vehicle and boat trailer so as not to take up camping stalls. Register with the campground operator. Complete the registration envelope, ONLY to let them know that you are staying at Pinehurst Lake Wilderness Cabins.

Proceed by boat along the south shore to the south-east end of the lake ( about 5 miles ). The Pinehurst Lake Wilderness Cabins are the first buildings you encounter along the shore, just before the Canada flag.
