Shovel Pass Backcountry Lodge
The world famous Skyline Trail is serviced exclusively by Skyline Trail Rides Ltd. This spectacular mountain region and its wildlife are offered to guests in the same tradition of quality service which has been the trademark of the Shovel Pass Camp for the past 75 years.

While it is Jasper's oldest permanent camp, we have undertaken a modernization program of its facilities. Guests are assured their comfort in newly renovated private heated cabins . Fresh linen is provided. All guests need bring are their personal items; rainwear, hat, sunglasses, flashlight, sturdy boots, warm clothing and camera. Home cooked meals are served in the main lodge and include fresh salads, ample meat and vegetable dishes along with plenty of desserts. |
After dinner, guests can explore the surrounding country or relax in the lounge beside the wood stove. Our camp can accommodate up to 20 guests.
Choose from 3 or 4 day trips which include accommodation, meals, horses, and guide. The 3 day tour begins on Saturdays, and the 4 day tour begins on Tuesdays. Trips run July, August and September with riding times averaging 4 hours per day. Guests at the Lodge may choose to take rides to the surrounding valleys and ridges or spend time hiking, climbing or photographing the renowned scenery and resident wildlife including mountain goats, bighorn sheep, caribou, elk, and marmots.
Hikers of the Skyline are also accommodated in private cabins with 3 meals and the freighting of their packs to camp June through September. Interpretive hiking guides also available.
